About Edinburg, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Found in Christian County, Illinois, the small Village of Edinburg is home to approximately 1,100 people. The community is located in the center of the state between Breckenridge and Sharpsburg. Edinburg is only about 18 miles southeast of Springfield, and it is about 100 miles northeast of St. Louis, Missouri. Despite the small size of this community, students are able to attend school right within the village limits, completing their secondary education at Edinburg High School.
There are several important businesses and things to do in the Edinburg area. There are many great restaurants located here, including Uncle John’s Family Restaurant and Jan’s Bar & Grill, and Stroker’s Tavern is a great place for an after dinner drink. The community has also hosted an annual Labor Day Picnic and Parade since 1945, which includes live music, rides, tractor pulls, demolition derbies, and a chili cook-off.
Fortunately for Edinburg residents, Springfield is only a short drive away and offers many cultural opportunities. The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum and Lincoln Home National Historic Site are both educational and entertaining stops. Families with children might prefer a trip to the Henson Robinson Zoo.
Weather conditions in Edinburg vary dramatically throughout the year. The summer months tend to be hot, with average daily highs reaching the high-80s or even hotter. High humidity in the region can make it feel even warmer, sending many residents indoors to escape the heat. An energy efficient air conditioner with a high SEER rating is a necessity throughout these months, and an HVAC technician can repair and service these systems to keep them running at optimal efficiency.
Winters in Edinburg are cold with variable snowfall, and average high temperatures reach the mid-30s during the day. Overnight lows usually fall below freezing, so it is vital that residents invest in the right gas or electric furnace. In addition to keeping indoor temperatures warm, the right system will be a wise investment to keep utility costs affordable.
