About Pana – Owaneco, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
The Pana – Owaneco region is located in Christian County within Central Illinois. Made up of two communities – Pana with its 5,600 residents and Owaneco with fewer than 250 – the history of the area dates back to the mid-1800s. Pana was originally called Stone Coal Precinct, but the name was changed shortly before the village was incorporated in 1857. Also known as the City of Roses, both Pana and Owaneco are well-known for the many florists, greenhouses, and growers located in the vicinity.
While there aren’t any major attractions found here, there are several events held in the Pana – Owaneco area throughout the year. The Pana Heritage Days typically take place at the end of May, and the streets are blocked off to make room for live music, vendors, and carnival rides. The Tri-County Fair begins the week before Labor Day and boasts a daily attendance of about 7,000 visitors. At the conclusion of the fair, the city also hosts the Pana Labor Day Parade, which is one of the largest in the state.
The Pana – Owaneco area is located within a humid continental climate zone. This means that the region will experience four distinct seasons, starting with a cold and snowy winter. Average daily highs reach the mid-30s, but overnight lows will fall into the 20s or even lower. Without the right gas or electric furnace, these conditions could lead to both dangerous and uncomfortable indoor circumstances.
After a cool, rainy, and stormy spring season, the weather in Pana – Owaneco is dramatically different. Daily highs reach into the upper 80s during the peak of the summer, so a central air conditioner with a high SEER rating will provide affordable and energy efficient cool air. The right system can make all the difference in how well Pana – Owaneco residents are able to enjoy the summer.
